I had a rat shack radio that worked very well, cant remember the model but
it fit in the ash tray. Used it with a power mike and it sounded great. Stay away from the mods and modders, that a good way to ruin a radio. "TheHairyBeast" wrote in message ... I have a Radio Shack TRC-503 in my Cherokee. Its VERY tiny, but works well. I added a power mic, and a nice tall antenna and it gets out just fine. You can get them new for less then $50.00 "JSF" wrote in message . .. "Chris Maness" wrote in message ps.com... Looking to put this in a jeep wrangler where space is at a premium. I haven't owned a CB in 15 years, so to say the least I don't know anything about them other than reading some old usenet archives. I was looking at the Galaxy 929 mobile. Is there anything smaller than this? I am looking to spend under 200 plus the modding. I appreciate any help and pointers in the correct direction. Thank you! I have a thread basically on the same issue over on rec.autos.makers.jeep+willys You might want to join in on the thread. From what I hear the other radios have issues with reliability and that Galaxy is your best bet as far as reliability. Check out the Cobra 75 WXST , its a good radio. |
