i currently have valor antennas with the tuning rings. i thought about running 102" whips but havent decicded if i wanted to go to the trouble of putting them on somewhere that looked decent and didnt interfere with there performance. any sujestion would be appreciated thanks Scrap the dual antenna idea unless you can get then 8 feet 6 inches apart. One good antenna will perform better. Use a real mounted antenna, not a magnet mount. Make sure your grounds are good at RF, not just DC. The closer you get your antenna to the magic 8' 6" mark, the more efficient it is. 102" whip can't be beat and I like the Firestik KW-7. Every one of my sideband radios pick up more hiss on LSB/USB then on AM. ANd if you think SSB has loud static, try FM for some serious shot noise! |
