Tube rig
 

I'm thinking about buying a Yaesu FT-101E that has just been gone through,
new finals and all. (those strange tubes) NOS case on it too, beautiful. No
drift after warm-up.

I've heard it on the air, and it sounds -FAT- on SSB, the owner says the
receive is golden too. Money back guarantee. I sold my ts-520 so I'm back
in the market for a fine sounding tube transceiver.

My question is re-tubing the finals someday, I understand those are very
rare now.

How much will that cost me in today dollars?

What tubes are they? That is kind of discouraging. They are great looking rigs.

6JS6C, two in the final stage. Even if you convert the final stage to
6146B's you are still at a cost of $40 or more for a matched pair.

I have been taking on a couple of restoration projects. First trying old CBs.
Then hope to try Ham rigs. Do a lot of the old rigs use these tubes?

12BY7A driver and pair of 6JS6C finals in 101 line, except for 101Z
and 101ZD. They are 12BY7A driver and 6146B finals.

Hey Vinnie I have an old Swan Egineering SW-240 Single Side Band Xcvr
you can have. Picked it up from a neighbors trash pile just before the
rains came. Just pay postage and its yours.
Also have a Johnson Viking MultiBand (10, 15, 20, 40, 60, 80 & 160)
meters but the fooker weighs like 80 lbs. Again yours for postage.

Some always get damaged. I could meet you somewhere in Staten Island or such,
and would reimberse you for gas and tolls. But I want them both. I don't care of
condition. But are they complete?

Email me direct Vinnie as I have an idea of where we can hook up.
The Swan has the original mic attached. Even has what appears to be
brackets where the gent used it as a mobile. The Viking doesn't have the
mic or power cord but you could figure those out. Its a restoration
thing with these but I'm fairly sure they work.
