this is a cell phone but it's really a two way radio with 100km range. i have never seen this before. can someone explain what it is? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=290219248257&.... It appears to be a two way duplex radio system that utilizes cell phone type transcievers. Basically, you have a repeater hub that you set up in a remote location and communicate using the handheld units, much like hams do on two meters, looks like a neat idea if it actually works. However, the reason you have not seen these devices before is because they are not legal for use in the USA, especially on 450 mhz. The FCC is pretty good at detecting these kind of systems, and IMO if you put this device in use, you would get busted pretty quickly. I would not waste my money unless you are going to take it for use outside of the US. 73, Pops |
