Default Antenna specialist scanner antenna Specs

I just bought a tram titan II on ebay and a sedelta mic. Also a
scanner antenna. recently... I am receiving nothing on it. I just
checked the antenna thinking the relays are not working. But yes they
are. However with the controller off. I am getting all elements
shorted. Should be normal.. Position one. 2 elements open ore
shorted. same for pos 2 but next element pos 3 same but next
element and pos 4 all elements shorted. again. this is not
normal... A B and D are all wired properly. with 2 elements hot I
should have a bad match ( I have not checked the SWR yet. but would
expect a poor match. I would think one element hot.. 2 and 3 as
reflectors is the way it should work for directional characteristics.
right??

anyone with experience with this antenna?? I cant find any specs on
the web for this antenna. .... so far....

cheers

Hello Islander;

Look at CB Tricks.com at

http://www.cbtricks.com/ant_manuals/index.htm

and click on the Super Scanner, there is a diagram showing how the
control box and antenna switch box should be wired.

Let us know how you make out there, I have threatened to make a
electronic switching antenna, but with a few improvements over the old
Scanner antenna design.

Great antenna, it wasn't as good as the ads made it out to be but it was
handy to figure out where to point the beam from switching between the
elements.
