Part 95 rules prohibits anyone using split, repeaters, digital modes, or FM, on 11 meters - the CB radio.

Basically a CB radio is limited to the 40 channels allocated.

At one time, someone got the bright idea that to include a digital frequency display would help some freebanders from operating out of band.
I guess it made them feel a little more like hams or something.

The channel store option is for people who likes to save their favorite frequencies - 19, 9 etc so they do not have to turn the knob.
Some transceivers will also allow you to scan or listen to more then one channel at a time... Not a real good option on 11 meters - since the noise level is usually horrible to begin with.
