I logged in, saw 20 messages for an instant, then there was one. Why
waste your time on trolls? I realize the water must be a bit rough right
now. The storm is churning in the Gulf...

Ah, hell,,it was like what you had a few weeks ago,,rain, rain, and
more rain....2 inches yesterday in less than 2 hours, the weekend wasn't
much better. It's why I can't take winters up north,,the sun stays away
too long and staying indoors for all this amount of time is not healthy
nor conducive to one's reasoning capabilities,,,it makes one go
insane....yea,,that's the ticket...temporary insanity from lack of 'ol
Sol.
I did hear a Galveston mobile the other day. crystal clear and the skip
wasn't wavering at all....I checked the logs and the last time I had
such a direct line to the area was when a hurricane was near the same
spot...those storms in my front yard sal****er pond always make
communications to the horn with ease....had Rhode Island, Delaware, and
parts of Pennsylvania yesterday on 38 SSB, no Maryland,,,,lately when we
get skip from Maryland, it seems to always come from the other side of
the state.

In response to your endeavors involving knocking the AMers from Florida
off the frequency with 200 whiskey SSB on the sideband channels, try
channel 40..you can do this as frequently as you wish and never run out
of Florida AMers..of course, with what some of these folks are running,
even 200 watts through a beam isn't going to get you heard over the
folks that use 4 digit linears to do battle with a station a half mile
away, and there are plenty. We may supercede Phoenix as the wild, wild,
untamed radio void...ah, what the hell,,......,,everyone across the
country is talking to Fl or TX...Arizona gets out only when we unkey and
has lost their stature.....turn on any eleven meter radio ( when the DX
is running ) and one hears DXers from Fl or TX or those that are calling
for Fl or TX on a daily basis. Next time the skip is running from your
area, email me,,we may be able to communicate.,...........perhaps
legally.

Florida is a hard state to hit from here, like New York City. Upstate
works. I hear south starting about the Carolinas.

40 is used here by a group that's been on CB longer then me, and are hams
as well. I keep hearing them on the bands. I may have to make contact soon...

Since the skip noise has been overwhelming lately, 90% of our club
is hanging on 2 meter simplex. About every half hour, someone checks
11 meters and reports it's still trashed, so we stay on 2. We would
like to be able to use 11 so we don't have to be so careful as to
what we say. It will be on tonight. Net is 2030 local time.

Ahh,,your New York is my Georgia..I hit it last week for the first time
in almost two years.

And I hear north, beginning with SC, all the way up the coast.,,with the
exception of MD (usually).

Channel 40 AM has been in use as long as I can remember in this
area...appears it's that way in many areas of the country. Somehow, I
don't think that's going to change.
I can think of a few hammies right off the bat in this area who are
die-hard AMers on cb, but there are way more freebanders in the area.

Haha..I know some locals who share your view,,but to others, that
overwhelming skip noise is music to our ears.
