![]() "Warp 4" -use-this wrote in message ... Congratulations Scott By: "Jim Hampton" to rec.radio.cb on Wed Jul 16 2003 02:47 am Not to be the bearer of bad news, but anyone located anywhere in the lower 48 can claim any unused call for the lower 48 as a 'vanity' call. Yes, we have a couple of '8' calls here in the Rochester, NY area. If I wanted jrh in my call and couldn't find one available as a '2', I could apply for (and get, if it isn't assigned) a '3', '1', '0', or whatever. KG6 is now a California call. KG6AAY is assigned in California; it used to be the amateur radio station at NavCommSta Guam (receiver site). If you're confused, think how confused us old timers are ![]() Hey. You ever get on SSB any? I live in downtown Bflo and usually monitor 27.555MHz USB. That would be illegal for him to do that and he risks losing his Hammie license to boot if caught there. |
