works great with linears, and causes no harm to the radio. You end up with
variable power on the SWR CAL knob, but don't loose the function of the SWR
bridge.
remove the VR adjustment for Am power.
remove the wires from the SWR _CAL, and tie the CAL circuit to where it is
wide open.
wire the SWR-CAL pot in place of the AM power adjustment.
This will give you variable wattage. the more you turn the control down, the
better it will swing. this WILL NOT give any more power though,But it's
handy if you run a amp. the SWR will still calibrate since the circuit is
still hooked up, the variable wattage will reach a point to still calibrate
the meter. Ideally, this should work with any SSB radio.
