What illegal towers? I hope you don't think amateurs are limited to 60 feet
or something. There are no 2 meter CB amps. My guess is that most amateurs
run 100 to 150 watts on HF and anywhere from 5 watts to perhaps 70 watts on
2 meters. That is *plenty* for worldwide communications on HF and
sufficient for a couple of hundred miles of continuous 24/7 coverage on 2
meters (depending upon mode/antenna etc.)
