Heh.. Wish I still had my old Corvair... It'd smoke BOTH of those, and
still have throttle left. Ask me about it some time. -SSB Steveo wrote: "Jeff Mayner" wrote: wrote in message I donut run a bottle on the Belvedere, pump gas only. Just picked up a new Dodge 1500 Hemi. I don't need a bottle either. ;-) Jeff That ****'s weak. My 66 will eat its lunch. |

Here's the steps, in order:
Take 65 corvair. Remove engine. Cap Diff. Put new clutch and plate on front of tranny. Remove back seats. Cut hole in floorpan. Install rollcage and crossmember. Lovingly slide LT1 into place where back seats used to be. Bolt to tranny and motor mounts. Hookup wiring. Install radiator under "hood" and run piping. Replace all fluids. Testfire motor. Install 50's series tires on rear axle. Install 60's series tires on front axle. Install trunk where old engine compartment used to be. Paint corvair metallic burgundy. Stencil "Nader's Nightmare" on both rear quarterfenders in bright fire engine yellow. Watch Steveo's countenance drop when he realizes his Hemi is no match. ::SMIRK:: -SSB Steveo wrote: sideband wrote: Heh.. Wish I still had my old Corvair... Somewhere.. I'll have to dig through my old stuff and scan them in..
it's been nearly 15 years since I did that.. If I run across 'em, I'll be sure to get it done. -SSB Steveo wrote: sideband wrote: Here's the steps, in order: Take 65 corvair. Remove engine. Cap Diff. Hit the history books again.. He finally got the Corvair killed in
1969. He also got quite a few other good products killed... Well, they were good after the bugs were worked out of them. The original Corvairs (60-64) had only one U-joint on each rear halfshaft, and the draglinks tended to buckle under high-speed turns, so the axles would fold under, causing the car to roll. People were hurt. GM fixed the problem with the 1965 model, but Nader still persisted and got it killed. -SSB Lancer wrote: On Sun, 12 Oct 2003 15:55:17 GMT, sideband wrote: Here's the steps, in order: Take 65 corvair. Other then the wide tires making the truck a white-knuckler on freeway bumps above 60mph, I love this truck. Anything short of a Lightening better watch out. :-) Jeff -- http://NewsReader.Com/ 50 GB/Month |

Maybe he will put a cap on the back of the new truck, so he can come visit and you can blow him back there. That's a bad idea. Jeff |
