- Field strength was not measured from a field strength meter, but from a commercial receiver, almost all of which incorporate some variation of AGC (Automatic Gain Control). IOW, the receiver's gain changes according to the strength of the signal. So for that reason alone the readings are not accurate. snip S-meters are not accurate and I never stated they were. The are very accurate in giving relative readings. |
