changes that are designed to circumvent your bozo-flush.

Someone had one on Yahoo, but no one used it. They preferred the strife here.

There are plenty of other Yahoo Groups out there.

manually set up the filter.
But, the trolls keep changing their header details so that you have to keep
blocking them.

It is also a good idea to block some subjects and words. Some newsreaders
will allow you to "block" a whole thread - but I have to manually block
subjects.

While you are at it, get an e-mail filter running. They will try e-mail
abuse, but a good filter will stop it totally.

I can see why... The filter he described was for Outlook Express, the exact
program you are running. Problem is, yours appears to be about 5 or more
years out of date... ;)

Peter, if you send me a snail mail addy, I'll send IE6, the older version
with the Java. You'll have to windowsupdate to get it up to date.

IE6 will only run on Win98 and above... I am running 95.
I do have IE 5, IE5.5, and IE6... but I also have limited space on this

i guess due to lack of posters. it didn't put up with the nonsense here.

It was 6 years old in November.
Only in the Software industry, with companies such as MS, would something 6
years old be considered 5 years out of date.

I am still using software designed for Windows 3.1 - and my children still
use some DOS games and graphics software. It all still works fine.
In fact, my old version of CorelDraw still produces better graphics than
some modern software. Not much good for the Web, unless you convert to
bitmap first, but better for schematics than any bitmap type software.


Many CBs in use now are much older than 6 years - possibly the majority here
in the UK.

Ah, but that is another problem. Activity on any particular group is
directly proportional to how well know it is and how easy it is to
access. The Yahoo group's lack of activity may simply be due to a lack
of visibility.

Of course, the downside to popularity is that it attracts the "seedy"
element as well as the good people. You have to draw the line. Do you
want a semi-private group, who's existand reaches only a small grup of
people, and where it is easier to regulate content? Or do you want an
open door public forum, which has no problem with the quantity of
participants, but you have to take the good along with the bad?

MailWasher - although I use Scan MailBox, which is still free, fast
and easy to set up.

At the moment, I am getting sent between 3 and 5 Megabytes of
junk mail every day (possibly including viruses) to one of my
mailboxes - Scan MailBox filters out every single one on the server.

There still are a couple of Yahoo groups for CB, both in use... but they are
not newsgroups. The difference is that the trolls and spammers are soon
evicted, which cannot be done on the newsgroups.

The trolls do not overrun any CB group. Some groups are too quiet for them,
but others just ignore them or tell them to shut up, and leave it at that.
They still post the odd troll message to the UK group, but it gets even less
response than the stupid "bush" type cross-posted trolls get. So, they come
back here to feed... look at how long a troll thread keeps going here.

I can see how much the idea of people stopping the trolling bothers you.

I still only count 15 threads, even though they are not all troll threads.
However, take out the ones about CB, CBers, using this CB group for CB
topics, and the ones with just one post (they do not justify your use of the
word "repeatedly") - and you have very little left.

You prove my point... your use of the word "repeatedly" for a single
message was rather massaging the truth, but using the word "most"
was nothing more than a lie, just as calling a CB topic in a CB
group "trolling" is a lie.

I do believe that the idea of this group being less of a warzone and more
of a CB group scares some people sh*tl*ss.

You do seem to love the troll posts and arguments. But it still does
not justify you calling threads about CB or CBers troll threads or troll
posts just to massage figures. At least I stated where CB
messages were killfiled because they were not of interest to me
(such as for sale threads)... I didn't claim them to be troll posts to
boost the figures, even for your posts.


I'll tell you what. As you whine so much about me responding to trolls who
direct messages and questions at me (albeit once you know that I have
killfiled them), that seems to just leave just one more.
Take that big stick from near your door, and put it by the computer. You
can then shake it at the computer when you get angry. If you want to whine
