Now that the sun spots are on the wan the only DX
these freebanders are going to see "regularly"
will be on the lower Ham HF bands. Since they
don't have any morals about ignoring Part 95 rules
I'm sure that some of them can't resist the urge
to spin that VFO dial down to a Ham band. All it
takes is a simple dipole and some coax to get on
the band for them.

I'll be great sport to see how many bootleggers
can be ID'ed and busted. Maybe even suggest it as
a new form of contesting to the ARRL!

You know.........You have a great idea. Use the low HF
bands for further DXing, and you make it a contest to
boot!

DXing has never been so much fun. Thanks for the
suggestion. Let the contest begin!

glad you posted tnom because i was thinking the same thing!!!

And maybe because CB is where the action is?

And I bet Leland (and DouGay) don't think twice about using HF even
without the proper license!

Dogie advertised a CB as mod capable, CA$H is king with him.

This radio called a IC-78, has all 40 cb channels and if you hold
down the FC button for a second you open up the radio and
can TX up and down.

Yes, Icom does make some nice CB radios. My CB is an Icom 746.

They did make a UK CB, but it was certainly far from being the best
available.

Happy new year.

Peter.

For it's correct purpose - yakking away the hours on.
CB and Amateur are different services for different purposes. The failure
to see that is causing Governments to try to make them more alike,
gradually turning Amateur into a CB service.

If people just want to yak, they want CB... if they want to get technical,
then they want Amateur. There is no reason why people should not
have both (as many do), if they have a proper use for each.

Happy new year.

Peter.

your still a lying piece of ****. when have you or anybody else ever heard me
on 10 meters or any othe ham band? leland you pritting out right lies and
unfounded allegations might get your ass in trouble one day. until then i'll be
calling cq with 4 kw's into a dipole on 6670khz. hope to hear you answer back
one day. talking to those eastern europeans down there is getting a little old.

Want to bet they slip in to the Ham 10m Ham band
from time to time using a bootleg call sign. Tim
Nebo used a mod'ed Yeasu FT-840 to do the same
thing. Boy did he get hot with the denials when I
brought up the subject that he was using the rig
on something other than 11m, like bootlegging on
the Ham HF bands. He even publicly asked about
using the so called "Charlie" frequencies, used by
airliners over the ocean for long distance
communication, on this very news group.

No one said they heard you on the ham bands Tim, but if you have no
qualms about bootlegging on the HF air comms band then why should we
believe you'd care about the hams bands?
