OT weather scanner

I'm looking to buy a weather alert radio that has the local
restrictions. I can't remember what they are called, but it
doesn't blast you out of bed for a river valley flood warning
that is 50 miles away.

Do you guys have any recommendations?

Thx.

I like the tornado alerts. These radios set off an alarm tone
if bad weather is in your area.

Here is a thought - there are never tornados in the Caribbean. :-)

I lived what, about 20 miles from you when I lived in Stow? I don't think
I ever saw a tornado the entire time I lived there.

Look for any weather radio that has S.A.M.E. in order for it to be
programmed properly you'll need to know your county FIPS code but that
can be found online.

try this link

www.weatherradiostore.com

You can also get regular scanners that have this feature.

hey no problem, I just remembered I have a CD that has the FIPS code
for every state and every county state code is 39 and your county code
is 103, Also some weather radios will allow you to enter several
codes, in other words if you want to hear alerts for neighboring
areas, like the ones that would get hit before you would so you have
advance warning.
