I have known Steve for a while. IMHO, you can push him to a point
where, if he does not reel himself in of his own accord, you can find
that you went too far. With some folks it does not matter if you go too
far - they won't do **** other than give themselves an ulcer. With other
folks, pushing them too far can be hazardous. I view him in that latter
group.

Hudson. It was OK, all things considered.

Disagree. I have a really poor view of Usenet policing. I think anything
goes, like the wild wild west. You might want to research something
called Telnet. You can get into someone else's box, and get to the rest of
the world using that box as the vehicle. That makes it really hard to prove
who did what. Here is a link with a bit of an overview:

kill you and your will would have to leave your PC to Sherlock Holmes for
anyone to even consider that your attacker came from the internet. Cops

My interaction with Steve only started on Usenet, in the NASCAR and NHRA
groups years ago. Usenet has not been the foundation for our friendship

Nah. Some of the stuff in here is fairly interesting. I really don't
think Steve needs "backup". I think he can protect himself fairly well.
Moreso in real life than on these groups - but isn't real life a better
place to be able to protect yourself anyway?

I have never seen him drunk. In fact, I am not so sure he drinks hard

Could just be lack of knowledge of hacking capability. I like to think I am
fairly secure, but I am sure I am not. I have a firewall router, 802.11g
with WEP enabled, Norton Corporate on all of my servers (W2KAS), and
Norton Internet on all of my PC's and Notebooks (XP Pro)

Sorry save the link, there are cops who are not street cops but
computer experts that is thier job, they know what the truth is and
where it is posted from but you can believe what you wish.

I have gotten out of some messes on the internet when I was absolutely sure
I was beyond nailed. But here I am, and still smelling like roses. And
it's not that I know a great deal, it's that most folks don't know a
****ing thing.
