The orange maybe the one that goes to the battery. Red for ACC and
black for ground. This way when you turn the radio on, it will not
automatically go to channel 9, it will stay on the channel you left it
on...

Hello -
Newbie question for the group: I am trying to install a CB radio in my
vehicle. The radio is a Cobra 18 WXST II. The power cord supplied with the
unit has 3 permanent wires - the normal black wire [for the ground], the red
wire [to power the unit] and an orange wire for ??? I am stumped - the
owners manual makes no mention of this 3rd wire in the installation
instructions, the radio manufacturer has no info on their FAQ's on their
website. Any idea's/help from this group would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Uncle Klattu.
