The FCC isn't crying about his operation, you are. Ask them for THEIR reasons. "I" do not make their rules. But I will say, I've known many who said they'd never get busted. And they have? Name three. Never say never. It happens in due time. One guy (A CBer) was very defiant and got busted as many times as he ignored their rules. Jack Gerritsen comes to mind immediately, but he was hammie, not a cber. You have an example of a cber more defiant than this hammie? Cite it... Paid upwards of $50,000 in fines and lost all equipment each time. So, if you have money to gamble, be my guest. How does the saying go.... "A fool and his money are soon parted"? Apparently, there is a "repeater" for the chicken band on the air. The link at the very top has pictures, circuitry and everything! Is this not against the law? :(. Jerry I've made 11 meter repeaters before. If you stay low keyed, you can get away with it for a very long time. Personally I think it's much better than running a bunch of heat to get out and you're not splattering the crap out of your neighbors if you're accessing it from your home. Worked great with a HH too but I had to make the encoder inside a large mobile mic since I couldn't fit it into the radio shack hh at the time. -Dr.X Do you also drive at 100 MPH because it's illegal to do so and you've done it before? People who always break the rules are partially responsible for yet more being imposed. Rules are made for a reason. And no, it isn't to be broken.... NS If you're going to use that analogy, then make it a little more realistic. Using a repeater on 11 meters is more like driving 5 MPH over the speed limit. I guess you would rather have folks driving near hospitals with 1200 watt splatter boxes stopping hart monitors just so they can be heard. -Dr.X The whole point WAS.... Do you do it because it is ILLEGAL? Driving faster than the speed limit allows - regardless if 5 or 100, linear amps, etc... ALL are illegal, so is that why you do it? ANY analogy could be used in this case. IF it is illegal, it is illegal - regardless what the situation is which is against the laws of the land. As for comparing the damage done in going 100 mph as opposed to a CB repeater... Maybe there isn't any comparison in that regard, BUT again BOTH are illegal. No, I wouldn't want people driving past Hospitals with 1200W splatter boxes, silly statement - they're not legal anyhow. SO that analogy sucks as bad as you think mine did. Besides, they won't "stop" a heart monitor. Maybe interfere. A "heart monitor" won't "stop" the heart, it merely reads the heart rhythm and allows the staff to see how the patient is doing. RF in close proximity may interfere with a Pacer, but I'm not so sure a 1200 watt radio going down the road will do it. It is more like Microwave ovens up close, some other forms of RF at high density, like Radar System. Cell phones are even thought to do it - in some cases. I'm sure there are 1500 watt Ham stations within proximity to some hospitals with no mention of problems. But no matter, if you're into illegal operations, nothing anyone else says will sit well with you. All I can say is - do it long enough, your turn will come. NS Exactly. This is the keyclown mentality. The self centeredness of keyclowns is well documented, and they try any verbal trickery they can think up in an effort to justify their keyclownism. |

"M-Tech" wrote in message ... Well then you made no point. I think everyone here is mature enough to already know it's illegal. I don't recall reading anything in the thread that said/argued otherwise. Typically, things are illegal for a reason. I'm still listening to why a repeater should be illegal on a CB freq....and a car going 100 mph ain't gonna cut it :-) Don Hi M-Tech! How are ya? Let me see if I can help you with that Don. You see, some hams take offense when a common "CB'er" does something that might take some intelligence to do. Most hams don't care that running an 11 meter repeater is illegal. They care more that a CB'er might enjoy some of the capabilities that should be reserved for a privileged few. The ego of the more common amateur radio operator can seriously compete with some of the "channel masters" of the 11 meter band. Many of them break their own arms trying to pat themselves on the back for being such a smart tech or because they bought such great equipment. Let a CB'er build his own amp or transmitter and they're ready to pounce. "Can't let the trailer trash get too smart, nooooo. They might actually accomplish something. Wouldn't want that to happen." Anyway, I hope this helps you to understand even a little bit about his point (aside from "IT'S ILLEGAL!", that is). -Dr.X Wrong, fool. Enjoy it where it is legal. Like on an amateur band with a license. More dribble from another keyclown trying to think up a justification for keyclownism. Get your free keyclown training manual today! |

If you get busted, that is YOUR problem, not mine. You are the one that made a comment relating to getting busted, not he. I could care less. See above. Was just pointing out, a CB Repeater is illegal anyway you try to spin it. In addition to you "just pointing out" you told him his time would come. Protest to the FCC who made it that way. NS Coming from you, it's more like "the sky is falling" or "the glass is half empty." You discount those who can afford the fines. Reality is full of such tales. Those who can pay will play. Coming from you, twithead, it is just some more feminine mewling and 1 more well trained keyclown spewing nonsense. Good boy! |

Who's turn is it now?..I'd like to get it over with. :-D When it's my turn to get busted, I'll let NS know. It'll make his day, I think. -Dr.X _ Hello Doctor X. Glad to see you unscathed from the storm. He said my turn was coming over 5 years ago....never mind I've been operating since the early seventies. Be kind to him, he's a hammie not able to comprehend the laws regarding his hobby. LOL! Saucer boy is getting flaky now...showing his well trained self off a bit. Gotta love it. |
