Default Cobra 2000

Why do people still buy the old Cobra 2000s for $200 plus on E-bay.
They suck, and most are worn out, in fact they were not worth **** to start
with. If you think they were good radioes you must be a dum ass CBer.

Actually, if you base your comparisons to "CB radios" the 2000 was equally
as good as the 148gtl. It just had more bells and whistles. The board was
pretty much the same. If you are going to compare it to today's "CB radios"
I think it still holds it's own. On the other hand, if you compare it to 10
meter rigs* converted to work 11 meters, yes, it's junk.

The Cobra 2000 was and still is the BEST CB radio on the market! It has the
best receiver of any radio made (other than the Stoner which is a whole
different catergory).

The 10 meter radios have a bunch of features (crap), but for CB, you will not
do better than a Cobra 2000! This is why they are sought after; even to
today!

If you want noise crap and echo, buy your import junk. The real operators
will continue to use the Cobra 2000!
