That would be fun..make a DR.X studio to go along with the
broadcast,
sorta
like Ghoulardi. Post the gratest hits and such. lol

WHOA!!!! Steveo! you're alright if you know who Ghoulardi was. lol

-Dr.X

Hell yea, that dude was from Cleveland! They still show him here every
now and again. Usually around Halloween, so that's where I got the
idea lately. Ernie Anderson, right?

Yeah, Ernie was the original. He was also the BEST.

-Dr.X

He went on to make million$ in voice overs.

The the golden throat of abc television. He is missed much.

Here's the difference between the "amature" radio operators and a
pro.

Is that you? That donut look like a CB to me, sir.

heh-heh... No it's not. It's a studio at a 75kw am radio station. I
sometimes have to laugh at the "amature radio ops" that come here to
tell everyone how it really is. I know better. ;-P

-Dr.X

and yes, that is me.

-Dr.X

I get a kick out of looking at gear, geek I suppose.

Get a haircut ya hippie. :)

sitting on (an adtran and 2 codex's) gives me a link to two satellites in
orbit. WOO-HOO! Talk about skip!

Get a haircut ya hippie. :)

Can't do radio in WKRP style with short hair. . .yeah ok, hippie. :-)

Did this work? Do this again, Dr. X,,,I'd like to get on and say hello
to my friends up north. Let me know a day or so in advance.

It worked very well. I want to tweak it a little

though. I don't know how many listeners it

takes to bring it down. It was set at a high

quality so I can picture serious lag if a lot of

people connect. I'll lower it a little and see if I

can get several people to log on at once. This

will give us a better picture of quality vs.

number of simultaneous connections. I'll let

you know when. I'm sure we'll be doing more

testing tonight and over the next few days if

we have time.

-Dr.X

Let me know..I want to wave a hand.

We'll be doing some testing tonight at 7 to see if low bit rates will still
sound good. I'll post the link here when ready. We'll probably be doing
again tmrw night too.

You can probably get away with low sampling rates if you bandwidth
limit the hi frequency end to cut off at 4 Khz, and that way you can
use 8khz as the sampling rate (Niequest theorem 2x audio rate).
16bps is also satisfactory as a bit rate with these low fidelity audio
chips.

That's what I do with my voice grade recordings. It reduces file size
(and streaming bandwidth) considerably.

It's rollin' in good over here. Educational even.

I think the most talented one out of the bunch

is the one called Under Dog. He'll whip out an

education on ya ever once in a while and

make you laugh your ass off in the process.

I don't beleive I can hear Largo in my mud-duck-modile. Name some handles.
Maybe I do. There are some real kooks out there but that's nothing new. Roy
and Del Rio (both 35am) for instance.

I hear mostly Chuckie, Draino, 7-Zero, Underdog, Lefty (a real weirdo), and
the rest of that bunch.
