Hello Jim:
Yeah the weather here in the Mojave Desert can be really strange at times. The weather in Vegas can get rainy and have a lot of lightning at times while most other parts of the Mojave Desert are clear and warm. I have seen it here get below freezing (Brrrrrr) for almost two weeks. I had my pipes freeze once, and had to replace the 60 dollar pressure regulator, during the day when it got up to 30 degree's. Man was that a cold winter. It even happened in March. I worked a construction job near Vicorville once. I work in heavy construction machinery. We had an electrical problem in a heavy road grader once that throw everyone a curve. It was a Cat 16G Grader, or a Super Grader as it had a really wide blade on it for open grading of a new highways and such. This thing kicked some major a$$ when it was NOT running and of course things got behind schedule, because this kick ass, no ****, 5 star gold plated, Super Duper Grader wasn't running, or would only run long enough to get in the way. Man did the ol man (the boss) blow a gasket over that one!!!! Because it wasn't out equipement, we rented it! So we worked day and night to get to run again. We audited the main wire harness, and figured some repair mechanic or welder doing a repair damaged a few wires causing several electrical intermittent connections in the electrical system that allowed the Super Kick Ass Grader to be a large in the way obstacle. After a new ignition switch, Starter Solenoid, Starter, Alternator, and all new wire harness to the engine this baby was ready to Grade to China. So the Boss had the Grader Drivers and crew out there on a Sunday, and work at night, to make up for lost time. During the night and early morning it snowed, rained, blew like no tomorrow, and during the day was nice, didn't need a jacket. To make a long story short, you had to be ready for anything the weather would dish out, as we got it often. I don't think the weather in Alaska counld be that bad.
