Sounds like a Gizmotchy.

I'd rather have the moonraker if you're talking 4 elements against 4
elements.

I saw a strange antenna at the end of my street today, this gentleman had a
moonraker up, but took it down and replaced it with something I have never
seen before
it is a beam antenna with vertical elements as well as elements at 45
degree angles from the 0-180 plane so one vertical up and two at angles
down four sets of elements in each plane.

Any idea what the idea behind this is? It looks to be a home brew antenna.

I probably would too given the choice. I have dealt with 2 Jo-Gunn
antennas, and several Moonrakers. I installed a 3 + 3 or 4 Star antenna
about 10 years ago, and recovered and rebuilt a 4v antenna that crashed from
a half assed tower. Theyre built like brick ****houses, and use a quality
anodized aluminum. Although for the 4v repair, i spec'd out regular
untreated stock and used jo-gunn rardware and rubber. I used it as a
portable skip shooter since it has no elements that hang down and assembles
very quick, and sold it after a handfull of uses. Very good antennas that
shouldnt be overlooked these days.

Good source of aluminum parts to make 6 meter antennas...I always love
it when a keyclown puts up something big. You know they are so damned
dumb that they dont do it right most of bthe time...when it falls you
get a big laugh plus 6 meter parts. HEHEH. Life is good when you aint
a kneepad wearing keyqueen.
