I have a i-max 2000 base antenna.When the temperature gets below 30
degress, the swr sky rockets up so bad you can't you the radio, even the
recieve is terrible. When the temperature is above 30 degrees,no
problem.Any body else having this problem with there base antenna.I have
had other cb antennas in the past and never had any problems with
freezing weather.

Hello Jaa Jaa:

It sounds like to me that you have water inside the bottom section of
the I-Max 2000, that is freezing causing something to move causing the
high SWR below the 30 degrees.

Suggest you drill a small hole like 1/16 (or .06 to .07 inches) at the
bottom of the I Max 2000, just say a inch above the metal base into the
fiberglass, at a angle to allow any water to drain out.

Or is the coax filled with water, and the freezing temperatures causing
it to go south when it freezes??? May want to also look at the PL-259
connector, and keep it weather proofed.

Can the high SWR be prevented by say using a few hundred watts to keep
things warm and not freeze????

I billed $2500 in snow removal services yesterday, while you were having
your keyboard melt-down, fugly felon coward.

Now answer the questions:

1. How is the court ordered shrink working out for you?

2. How's the court ordered job hunt going?

3. How's the court ordered wage withholding going?

4. Have you made the rain report for jamming repeaters again, Doug?

5. Have you threatened to kick anyone elses ass, only to have them show
up at your section 8 slum and prove what a ****ing coward you are, maggot?

Go lay down by your bowl, dogie.
