Cobra 150/200GTL
Just got in a 150GTL.
Whole new circuit design using Mitsubishi Mosfet 16watt finals. Looks like a well built unit....fit and finish are good...controls feel tight. Trying to get schemos from Cobra might be a bitch though....but am trying. The freq expansion mod paperwork I got with the radio shows removing R-something..something...crappy copy...but it does point to a resistor next to the synth chip...but haven't tried the removal yet... Anybody got one up and going yet..? |

THANK you Scott for the link..hehe..I really didn't think that the Tricks
ppl had this info already.... Umm..it says on the sticker on the back...Made in the Philippines... The circuit board is like the 2950DX board...all surface mount, double-sided...a challenge, to say the least, for the 'old school' folks...hehe... ....now since I have the schemo, working out the swing mods shouldn't be too awfully difficult... |

Well, it's not China, anyway. I would stay the hell away from them until they work the kinks out. I find that 150 to be useless. It has no SSB, and power is much lower. I would wait for the 200.
