Default lonely roads out west question

Hello. I am planning on an extra long road trip through Wyoming and
Montana (among other states, but those I have cell service in
allegedly) with only the dogs for company. I'm trying to convince some
overprotective people (that I love) that it can be done solo.

I don't have a cb, but am considering getting one for the journey.

Does anyone know if there are listeners out there in case of a car
breakdown, etc? It would help ease their mind.

Thanks!!

Forget a CB...Get a nice .44 Mag and a GPS.
Happy trails.

Yes there is Sandy, on ch 19 there's so many people in the air, you'll have
to turn your squelch almost all the way up. Ch 9 is still the emergency
channel.

What's mostly handy about a mobile CB is the ability to find out what's the
traffic hold-up, and getting directions if you're lost. Most of the help
comes from truckers, so you have to adapt to some of their lingo.

Since when does having a CB preclude you from having those too?

Taking a handgun across state lines will get you time in some states.
Take a shotgun.

Yes, most any town/city will have some cb'ers... You should have at
least a 100 watt linear behind the radio though, so you are able to get
some distance, just in case you break down more than a couple of miles
from a town/city...

I have to agree with that. Most times I can run barefoot, but it's nice
to have the boost (and the preamp) once in a while.
