12 volts of REGULATED DC. Do not attached to 120 volt AC unless
you like sparks and smoke. Radio Shack sells a 3 amp power supply
that is sufficient to run a stock AM only radio. If you intend to
upgrade to a sideband model, get 5 or more amps.

You also need an antenna. The higher and bigger the better.
Back of set antennas and loaded mobile antennas won't do it.

The other thing to do if you dont have chance to get one straight away is to
put a spare car battery into a box and take that in the house to run the CB
off. Just make certain you put the red to the positive and black to the
negative terminal and you should be ok.(make sure the red is fused with a
suitable fuse in it, around a 2a would be ok) Use a car charger to top up
the battery perferably when you are off air.
You could also get a cheap Power Supply off eBay....... make sure though you
buy from someone reputable with a good feedback base or you might end up
with a non working one. Even with the postage charge you will probably find
it cheaper than a shop and it would be delivered to your door, but if you
have the option, buy new from a shop. The rig you refer to i take isnt a
sidebander so a 3A to 5A surge PSU supply would run it fine although a 5A to
8A or higher would probably be useful if you plan to run accessories off it
too, like an echo box or the like.
