It is a mod, and it will go over 4 watts on a.m. but it will sound like
crap above 20 watts. On Wed, 14 Dec 2005, wrote: the 706MKIIG can broacast 11m? can i tell it not to go over 4w, or is this a mod? |

Exactly said. I should have read on.

Not to mention, if caught, you could loose the rig and more importantly, your license (No flames please). On a side note, most modern amateur rigs do not perform well on AM without a lot fussing around. They are produced to transmit low level AM where the modulation is introduced before the final amp. You would get better reports from a transmitter that is high level or where the modulation is introduced at the final stage. I also recall that there was a remote mounted 40 Channel AM/SSB CB produced that contained all the functions in the microphone. There weren't many of these produced due to being harder to modify for "extra channels". I think it was produced by Midland?? Maybe someone in the group here will remember it. |
