Radio receives, won't transmit - why?

I've get a few PC-122's and I've got a TRC-451 that's Uniden all over it.
That 451 has great ears!

I have heard that about the TRC-451. Both Dave Hall and another site have
mentioned that.

Which Uniden was that?

I thought it was a really was a Cobra 146, now I'm not so sure.
Maybe the front is different, but the insides look like the scrapped
146 I've got. The front of a 146 is different.
