Default 102" whip

The springs are necessary for the length but mostly if you hit
something low... I've never seen a whip without a spring except on a
base antenna so i'm not sure about the mobile tuning...

I've mounted them without springs and still had decent swr's, they tend to
favor the upper channels which is just fine by me.

There ya have it... And he should know cause he was really looking...
