Around the time of the switch to 40 channels purchasers of SBE Consol II's
could ship their radio back to the factory for a 40 channel upgrade free of charge. I never saw a new Consol II 40 channel out of the factory for retail sale. I had a twenty-three channel version but didn't do the upgrade. Was a nice radio for it's day, receiver had some issues with adjacent channel rejection otherwise it was a great base radio. I was into Browning at the time an just purchased a Mark IV. "Dungeon Master" wrote in message oups.com... Hello, I'm an owner of a SBE Console V. This was SBE's answer to the addition of channels 24-40. Unfortunately, this rig was fairly expensive $450-$600 range and wasn't as friendly to modification as it's peer group of radios. This is a sharp looking rig even for todays standards and a decent performer. 73 Dungeon Master |
