I'm posting this message again in case it got lost in the newsgroup flames
the first time. I'm needing information about a Siltronix LA-150 Amplifier. I can't seem to find anything on the internet about this particular model linear. Anyone heard about this Model? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks |

Hello Stevo:
Hows it going? I would think that a Siltronics is a two transistor mobile amp. And is very similar to other common 2 pill or two transistor linear amplifiers. A good source for diagrams and info is at: http://www.cbtricks.com/ then click on amp info. You may also want to try here for more info: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Siltronix1011Bunch/ Jay in the Mojave Kreedentilas: Have uesed Sears Ridding Lawn More, needs head gasket. Got record player from TRW swap meet real cheap! Also got Gas dryer, so that now don't have to pull electrik oven out to get to the 220 Volt plug, for big lineear. Owner 1977 Ford F250 4X4 Truck, has worlds lounest PA System, great for drive in oldie but goodie nights. Got windshield wippers working on 64 Buick! Hi Jay, it's going OK over here, this is my busy season at work so I'm
hoping for some rain. We are almost 3 inches behind in rainfall since spring got here, but otherwise I can't complain. Thanks for asking. As to the Siltronix....I never liked them. Hello Stevo:
Yeah I never had a Siltronix radio, or amp either. We always called the Siltronix Radios, "Silly Siltronix" because they drifted a lot on SSB. We called the General Radiotelephone Radios, "Junkie Generals" but they worked pretty good. When I was a kid, my Dad had mostly had Layafette Comstant 25, General Radiotelephone, and Pace Radios, and a slew of linear amplifiers and antennas. The big thing I remember was replacing the 30 amp Generator with a 65 amp Alternator back in the 60's 70's area, in the ol mans 1964 F100 Custom Cab Truck with fire engine red bucket seats. Man did the old Palmar 150 mobile 12 volt linear amp get up and go after the alternator was installed! The ol mans boat had a Ford 312 Y Block V8 in it. It had the word "Interceptor" cast into the valve covers, well thats another story......
