Hello Stevo:
Yeah I never had a Siltronix radio, or amp either. We always called the Siltronix Radios, "Silly Siltronix" because they drifted a lot on SSB. We called the General Radiotelephone Radios, "Junkie Generals" but they worked pretty good. When I was a kid, my Dad had mostly had Layafette Comstant 25, General Radiotelephone, and Pace Radios, and a slew of linear amplifiers and antennas. The big thing I remember was replacing the 30 amp Generator with a 65 amp Alternator back in the 60's 70's area, in the ol mans 1964 F100 Custom Cab Truck with fire engine red bucket seats. Man did the old Palmar 150 mobile 12 volt linear amp get up and go after the alternator was installed! The ol mans boat had a Ford 312 Y Block V8 in it. It had the word "Interceptor" cast into the valve covers, well thats another story...... We are almost 3 inches behind in rainfall since spring got here, but otherwise I can't complain. Thanks for asking. As to the Siltronix....I never liked them. Jay in the Mojave wrote: Hello Stevo: Hows it going? I would think that a Siltronics is a two transistor mobile amp. And is very similar to other common 2 pill or two transistor linear amplifiers. A good source for diagrams and info is at: http://www.cbtricks.com/ then click on amp info.
