Yeah those where some really great days, just like being at a CB Break or shootout. Meeting all the really great people. I learned a lot from that crowd, just reading the mail and such. Dennis was really great as when he disagreed with you technically he didn't attack you personally. And I appreciated that when I was told or proven wrong. Their type of hands on experience and knowledge was like that of a drag race mechanic who know how hard things could be pushed before they come apart. And as usually there was always a few know it all ham radio types who recited book learning that got handed their technical argument back to them. A man who is into him self is surly a small man indeed. Then a few even joined in the conversations. It was really great! We can all have this type of news group again, we just have to ignore the goof balls. How would we moderate this news group? I work in construction and I have built my own amp every bit as good if not better that that overpriced skywave he is trying to hock. Mine has a ssb delay which his does not. I have a power on light which his does not. I'm thinking of adding a receive amp and maybe a high/low switch which his does not have. Later on I plan to have a remote on and ssb delay that will be controlled by switches on my 148 gtl. The "professor" seems to think that construction workers cannot build an amp. |

Please show us some photos (inside and out) of your design. www.telstar-electronics.com work in construction and I have built my own amp every bit as good if not better that that overpriced skywave he is trying to hock. Mine has a ssb delay which his does not. I have a power on light which his does not. I'm thinking of adding a receive amp and maybe a high/low switch which his does not have. Later on I plan to have a remote on and ssb delay that will be controlled by switches on my 148 gtl. The "professor" seems to think that construction workers cannot build an amp. |

He also lowered his price. Could it be he's hurting for money? I'm guessing eBay pulled his amp listing because he wasn't smart enough to include "not for use on 11 meters". If the FCC gets wind of his web site, he might get a nasty and expensive fine. I'm surprised the AKC nuts haven't ratted him out yet, as his spec sheet states that it operates from 26-30MHz ,with far less than 50 watts of input, which is against FCC regs. |
