Hello David and all:

David your e-mail bounced!

The reason the old 30 amp Generator was replaced was the new fangled
Alternators where hitting the market, that had twice or even more
current capability. And in order to charge the Battery the engine had to
have more RPM's than just a idle. Where the Alternator would charge the
Battery when the engine was just idling, and again had twice the current.

I guess Ford Motor Company didn't think the Ford Pick Up Trucks needed a
Alternator. Remember this was a 1964 Custom Cab F100, and didn't have a
lot of fancy devices that took a lot of current. The old 30 Amp
Generator had to run the engine, charge the battery, running lights and
a old Tube Radio, and windshield wipers if it rained, so not a lot of
stuff running off the generator.

But the new installed Alternator did have a higher voltage allowing the
Palomar 150 Tube Linear Amplifier to run even better with probably
around 14 volts to it. The Transistorized switching power supply did
make a whining noise. And it got louder with the new alternator.

In dear ol Dads truck ran a old Pace II-S a 12 channel radio, driving
the Palomar 150 amp. Into a M125 Antenna, and yeah it got out pretty well.

Now theres guys out there with 200 and 300 amp alternators running
transistorized and Tube amps. I never get tried of viewing all the
hardware at the Breaks and Shootouts.

But all new vehicles come with a Alternator now I believe.

Sure was. Down at Mojave Trails park at Victorville for the 40th anniversary
of the Bronco. Hanging out with Parnelli Jones, Willie Stroppe, Gale Pike,
Rod Hall, James Duff, Ray Harvick. Got down through your part late on
Tuesday, but headed by on the way home around 1pm Yesterday.
Gave a shout for you on 17, 19 & 14 but no luck. Hey, what the heck
are those buildings down the road a ways from you on the top of that
plateau?
It was east & south of "Rocket" something road.

Hello Landshark:

Oh that must be the old Rocketdyne rocket engine test zone or
something?!?!?!?

That would be a trick place to have a repeater, but I thinks its all
closed down. Been years since I even seen it.

Give me a call on 38 LSB.

whats up with all that rain coming out of the midwest? 3+ inches today
on the island and more to come.
and whats with all the hammie rejects invading this ng? it was fairly

that gator attack syndrome on the tee vee tube. Reckon those bucket mouths

We've now had rain every day since last weds night, but not like the

Steadfast thru the fog!

you sound like a pirate hehehe
whats up with all that rain coming out of the midwest? 3+ inches
today on the island and more to come.
and whats with all the hammie rejects invading this ng? it was
fairly quiet except for the dougie and clones crap and now its
nonstop flame wars. that 'old friend' noodnik has taken up
residence and brought all his knucklehead detractors with him. and
dont get me started on the programbo posts. what a laff they
were...

Hi Jim

I rarely ever curse the rain and so now we are behind on rainfall
overhere...this is a nice reprieve for everything that grows in
these parts.

It's strange how different the weather can be from town to town,
ain't it?

Rain makes me a superstar most years.

Three inches at once is a lot tho..

about 6 weeks ago we had 6-8" of rain. enough is enough. the
vineyards out east are going to be hurting as grape growers love
drier conditions. either way, the mets are beating the brewers and
the beers are frosty.

It's mostly feast or famine when it comes to rainfall...I hope your
new addition doesn't wash away, cuz yore doomed for certain then.

naw, i'm on a hill overlooking a lake so no possibility of a washout.
have hurricane straps between the two floors. i'll post some pics of
the completed site for your viewing pleasure ;)

That's what I meant to say but I didn't quite type it right....

If your new addition flood's we're all doomed! :)

Yea, show me the update when you get a chance. I still have the other
ones you showed me and that looked really nice. Good job OM!

just put up vinyl fencing ($3k arghhh)

Yea but now you and the old lady can hot tub in privacy with the champagne
flowing, so that's a fair trade.

and started cutting down the
hickory apple and cedars for the new igp. found a spoon from the 1860's
during all the ground work. good news is the trees are gone and the 40'
tower can go up. i'll probably hear twisty yakkin'...

Make that spoon into part of your amp switch! lol

Well, you can enjoy telling KC8LDO about it because he wears dresses,
too. There was a photo of him online wearing one before it became public
knowledge and he yanked it when this group found out about it and viewed
it but I still have it somewhere.

LOL If you find it, post it so we can all have a laugh.
