Default Question about the TM-D700A

With the TM-D700A, can you talk on one side and have APRS up and running on the
other side?

Yes.

It's quite capable, and I'm trying to remember all the things it
can do. I've certainly used the ability to run packet on one side
and talk on the other several times and liked it a lot.

The manuals are available from Kenwood, look at:

http://www.kenwood.net/indexKenwood....&FileCatID= 5

You'll want both the Instruction Manual *and* the Specialized Manual
(which covers all the digital features).

It's quite a versatile radio and is effectively much more than
a TNC and a radio in one box. The APRS display and the ability
to send messages using the microphone keypad (much like SMS
on a phone) are good.
