Hi all

Snip

Wouldn't it be a great idea if the
Amateur radio community could get together with the various train
operators and put in Amateur GPS tracking setups on all Australia's major
interstate passenger trains? Both Amateur Operators and rail enthusiasts
could then log into the internet and look at where each interstate train
is located.

cheers Peter

Peter, all.

Already been done. Most loco's in NSw are already GPS equiped. NCD can see
all loco's equiped with GPS and thier location throughout the state.
Operators can access a screen that displays thier logged on loco's.

Not certain on this one, but is there a requirement for loco's in NSW
(especially lead ones) to be equipted with GPS?
