Better things? Playing with your CB set, perhaps?
10-4, Good Buddy! "Bill Gunshannon" wrote in message ... In article , "Airy R. Bean" writes: The spirit of Ham Radio is doing the technical things for yourself. Anything else is CB Radio, perhaps in its insidious form of the CBer-Masquerading-As-A-Radio-Ham Perhaps those who replied below are closet CBers - did they buy their rigs off-the-shelf and do they send them back to be repaired? Well, I have been back reading the amateur radio newsgroups for only about two weeks after abandoning them quite some time ago. I see nothing has changed. I have better things to do with my time. |
And KC7GR is no exception.
"Dr. Anton T. Squeegee" wrote in message ... Usenet is as full of kooks and trolls today as it was when it came into being (probably more so, actually). This group is no exception. 73 de KC7GR |

I think that if there is any trolling being done, it is being
done by the rather infantile and silly escapee from the school playground who is being quoted below? Perhaps she or he is a closet CBer who is furious at being outed? "Hamhtr" wrote in message ... As you can see, this message actually came from uni-berlin.de, so this 'person' is a troll and probably a kid. Hey kid, what language do you program in? Are you a real programmer? (The answer is no, because until you get out of school, you don't get paid to write code.) So you're not a real programmer, just a kid. |

Ham Radio has traditions of gentlemanly behaviour.
CBers reveal themselves every time that they use the keyboard..... "D. Strang" wrote in message news:G3FGc.4282$r3.3548@okepread03... Bull****. The spirit is to have fun, something you are obviously missing with the level of mental retardation you are displaying here. If you're not having fun, then why not find a new hobby? |

Butch - you've the makings of being a _REAL_ Radio Ham.
Well done there! "Butch" wrote in message ... Well Duh on me. My son and I did a father/son project some 25 years ago and all this time I thought I was a real radio ham. Is there another type of Ham other than a real radio Ham? That is the only type of Ham you ever mention is a "real radio Ham". I must be what ever is left on your list of "Hams", I surly can't design and build anything close to the equipment I operate, my son can't either, but then he is only a computer engineer, not a real Ham engineer. Actually, I can't design any real ham equipment. I did copy and build a keyer out of QST that a real radio Ham designed and built, and a Ten Tec 40 meter QRP transceiver, but alas, it was a kit. A real radio Ham person designed that beautifull thing and all I did was put it together following some very easy step-by-step instructions provided. But I tell you I felt like it's proud father when it worked when I tried it out! When I get to heaven perhaps Jesus will be my Elmer and help me become a real radio Ham. I sure love this hobby. I just hate that I'm sooo,....DUH! |

A _REAL_ Radio Ham has the spirit to tackle and be effective
in any technology that is germane to her station. "jeannette" wrote in message ... I don't see anywhere there where it says that a REAL radio ham can write software.. |
