Texas Balloon Launch Team (BLT) to fly ham radio and GPS this saturday 10a

The balloon was successfully launched last Saturday. It reached 83,000
feet
over Texas before the balloon burst and the electronics payload
parachuted
back to earth. Amateur radio operators were heard talking through the
cross
band repeater from Galveston, Houston, Dallas, Austin, and Rio Grande.
Recovery was as simple as entering the last broadcast GPS coordinates
as a
waypoint into a hand held GPS receiver and following the arrow to the
landing site. Conveniently the package landed only a few hundred feet
from
a paved road.

Excellent photographs, good work, a big hand to all the team.
