DXNL 1531 - Aug 8, 2007
DX Newsletter

a free and weekly service of
DARC Committee "DX and HF contesting"

editor: Helmut Schlaffer, DL7MAE

)

BY - CHINA, AS-151
A large team with BY1TT/2, BD1PTA/2, BA3CE/2 and other OPs is going
to activate Ju Hua Island (AS-151) from Aug 10-12.
The QSL manager for all participants will be BD1PTA.

DU - PHILIPPINES, OC-130
Hans,DL5SDF, will stay on Mindanao (DU9, OC-130) from Aug 10-28.
He already has the confirmation to get a license but does not know
the callsign yet. Hans works only in CW with 100 watts and wires.
QSLs (preferably via bureau) via DL5SDF.

IS0 - SARDINIA, EU-041
Two activities from Sardinia will commence this week:
Stefano,IM0/IK5XCT, is active from Maddalena Island (EU-041,IIA OT-008)
until Aug 13. Bureau QSLs can be requested via e-mail to him or at his
website:
http://www.qsl.net/ik5xct
---
Gerry,IS0/IZ1DSH, und Giovanni,IS0/IK1WEG, will be QRV from EU-024 in
SSB/CW on 6-40m from Aug 8-20. They also plan some trips to the islands
Spargi (IIA OT-021, EU-041) and Caprera (IIA OT-012, EU-041).
QSLs via homecalls, bureau ok.

KH2 - GUAM, OC-026
Mike,K3UOC, is living with his family on Guam (OC-026) for about one
year now. Mike, who is working as a teacher, has the possibility to use
the equipment of the school's club station WH2D. He usually works about
90% in CW and promises operation on all nine HF bands whenever the time
and conditions permit. He intends to take part in all major contests.
After logging 6.000 QSOs during the last school year, he hopes to reach
10.000 QSOs this year. Mike plans to acquire an amplifier and also a
Hex beam to support the Cushcraft R-7000 he already has. Mike can be
found on the bands mostly during the weekends and takes care of the
QSL cards which should be sent via bureau or direct to K3UOC.
A few lines written by Mike about his amateur radio activities on Guam
can be found on the website of his school:
http://www.stjohnsguam.com/main/?opt...269&Itemid=124

KH3 - JOHNSTON ATOLL, OC-023
Susan,W7KFI, was underway to Johnston (OC-023) with her yacht when
hurricane Erik threw a spanner in her plans. She sailed back to
Honolulu and will wait till November when the hurricane season is over.

OH0 - ALAND ISLANDS, EU-002 / JW - SVALBARD, EU-026
Juergen,OH0/DJ3KR, is QRV from the Aland Islands (EU-002) from Aug 7-12
and plans to take part in the WAEDC CW Contest on Aug 11/12 as well.
He will then travel to Svalbard (EU-026) from where he will show up
as JW/DJ3KR from Aug 15-26. All QSLs via his homecall.

ST - SUDAN / 6W - SENEGAL
Jovica,T98A (ex T98A), has been working in Sudan for two years now and
logged 40.660 QSOs as ST0RM and ST2A, most of them in CW (35.012 QSOs).
He published a few photos on his homepage: http://www.t93y.com/st2a
On Sep 1 his job for the UNHCR (UN High Commissioner for Refugees)
takes him to Dakar, the capital of Senegal. However he will not only
work in Senegal but in the whole West-African region so chances are
there might be some activities from this area by T98A.
His QSL manager T93Y confirms all QSLs very reliably.

XX9 - MACAO
Hide,JM1LJS, plans another activity as XX9TJS, most likely from
Aug 10, 0900 UTC, until Aug 13, 1100 UTC. Hide works in CW/SSB on
10-80m and requests QSLs direct via JM1LJS.

Z3 - MACEDONIA
Chris,Z31GX, was using his old call for 14 years now and got
his new callsign Z35X on Aug 1.
Unfortunately DJ0LZ, QSL manager of both calls, confirms only direct.
---
The radio club "Nikola Tesla" (Z37M) can use the special event callsign
Z360M between Aug 1 and the end of the year to mark the 60th birthday
of their club.

4O - MONTENEGRO
Emir,9A6AA, plans to become active as 4O6AA from the island
Sveti Nikola (EU-163, LH 1097) from Aug 13-19.
Unfortunately QSLs only direct via his homecall 9A6AA.

9Q - DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO
After 9Q1NT is back in Belgium and 9Q1D returned to Sweden, the
last active station in Congo (which is approved for DXCC credit) is
Georges,9Q1EK, as stated by his QSL manager Osten,SM5DQC.
The 9Q1EL logs can be searched within at: http://www.logsearch.de
Philippe,9Q1TB, will return from his trip home during the month of
August. SM5DQC who is also the QSL manager of 9Q1TB writes that he
confirms QSL cards only direct and the EURO is useless for him in
Sweden because they still have their Swedish currency.
QSL cards for 9Q1TB and 9Q1EK should be sent to following address:
SM5DQC, Osten Magnusson, Nyckelvagen 4, SE-59931 Odeshog, Sweden.

PACIFIC TRIP
Toshi,JA8BMK, plans to activate 3D2, T30, T31XX and maybe also T33ZZ
during September or October and still looks for people to join him
to keep the costs down. If you are interested please contact him via
e-mail ). All calls have been allocated to
him a long time ago. Donations are welcome, more information will be
published in the DX Newsletter as soon as the DXpedition starts.

FRANCE, SPECIAL EVENT STATION
The 150th birthday of Heinrich Rudolf Hertz is celebrated with the
French special event station TM2HRH from Aug 6-19. QSLs via F6KTN.

CANADA, SPECIAL EVENT STATION
Members of the "Amateur Radio Club of Central Newfoundland" are using
the special call VO1GAM until Aug 31. This marks the 70th anniversary
of the first commercial trans-atlantic flight (5 Jul 1937) between
Botwood (Newfoundland) and Foynes (Ireland). Activities take place on
all bands and the QSLs should be sent via bureau or direct to VO1MX.

POLAND, SPECIAL EVENT STATION
SN2NP will be active in CW/PSK31/RTTY/SSB from the lighthouse in Gdansk
from Aug 17-19. QSL via SP2BIK, via bureau or direct.

station 3Z90ZIM until Sep 30. QTH is Przasnysz where the local scouts
celebrate their 90th anniversary. QSL via SP5ZIM or SP5X.

now. If you submitted your QSL earlier and got it rejected, please send
