4U1WED, VIENNA INTERNATIONAL CENTRE (Update). The Vienna International
Amateur Radio Club (4U1VIC) at the United Nations in Vienna is now
active using the special callsign 4U1WED through June 30th. Activity is
to celebrate the "World Environment Day" (WED) which took place on June
5th. Operations over the past weekend were mainly on 20 meters SSB between
1600-1900z. QSL via 4U1VIC. For more details on WED, please refer to the

4W, TIMOR-LESTE. The members of the Union de Radioaficionados Espanoles,
URE, (The Spanish Amateur Radio League) are now active as 4W6R from Dili
until June 24th. The team has had a few problems during the first few days
with power outages, but this has been solved with a generator they received
from Spain. They also bent a mast on a Mosley beam badly on Friday, but
hope to replace it. As this bulletin was being written on Sunday morning,
4W6R was heard active between 0500-1600z on CW (30/20m), SSB (20/15m) and
RTTY (15m). QSLs will be via EA4URE, by the Bureau or direct to:

7Y46, ALGERIA (More Info). A team of operators will use the special
callsign 7Y46ND during the month of July from the city of Djelfa. Mike,
DB1JAW, informs OPDX that the activity is to celebrate Algeria's 46th
anniversary of independence and the newly established club station in
Djelfa. One of the operators will be Mohamed, 7X2DD. Look for activity
to be on 80-10 meters. QSL via 7X2DD: Mohamed Djaballah, P.O. Box 467,
17000 DJELFA, Algeria. A special certificate besides the normal QSL card
will be available if requested for an extra fee of 5 Euros or 7 USDs.
ADDED NOTE: Mike, DB1JAW, also informs OPDX that he will be going back
in October and will be active as 7X/DB1JAW.

8Q, MALDIVES. Paulo, CT2IVH, will be active as 8Q7VH from Meeru Island
(AS-013), June 16-23rd. Activity will be on 40-10 meters using SSB and
RTTY. QSL via his home callsign, direct or by the bureau.

FJ, ST. BARTHELEMY. David, WJ2O, will be active as FJ/WJ2O during the
CQWW DX CW Contest (November 29-30th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/Low-Power
entry. David informs OPDX that his XYL Chris and he will be in the
Caribbean between November 25th and Dec 3rd. He mentions, "I will probably
operate 100% CW. I enjoy the WARC bands outside the contest and getting
up early to see if I can hear JA's on 40m and then Europe on 17m. This
won't be a very serious contest effort as I am just throwing up a wire
and running barefoot. I still hope to net 2K Qs in the contest. I'm going
to attempt 'almost real time' log viewing through wj2o.com." QSL direct
only via his home callsign.

HB0, LIECHTENSTEIN. Members of "The Hungarian Traveling Amateur Radio
Team" will once again be active from Liechtenstein between June 23-29th.
Operators will be Laci/HA0HW, Tomi/HA4DX and Jozsi/HG4GBE. They will
operate from Masescha (JN47SD, 1350 m ASL) as HB0/homecall. Activity
will be on 40-6 meters using CW, SSB, and maybe some digital modes.
The rigs a TS-450SAT, FT-840, IC-706 and a small FET amplifier.
They will use DunaX gps. QSL via the HA Bureau is "OK" or direct via
the operator's QRZ.com address.

HB0, LIECHTENSTEIN. Operators Jan/DL7JAN and Mathew/DJ2HD will be active
as HB0/homecall between July 15-19th. Activity will be on 80-6 meters
using CW, SSB and RTTY. QSL via their home callsigns, by the bureau or
direct.

IOTA NEWS........................
EU-016. Operators Emir/9A6AA and Toni/9A7PJT will activate Jabuka
Island (ACIA 807, IOCA CI-032, MIA MC-136), a rare IOTA, on
June 21st ONLY. Look for activity during the early morning
hours on 20 and 40 meters. QSL via 9A6AA (QRZ.com). For more

EU-034. Frank, DL1FT, will be active as ES0FTZ from Kuressaare,
Saaremaa Island (WLOTA LH-1401, WW Loc. KO18FG) between July
8-18th. Activity will be on 80/40/20 meters SSB. QSL via his

EU-088. Operatprs Klaus/OZ7KDJ and Erik/OZ9V will be active as OZ8MW/p
from Anholt Island (DIA NK-001) between July 23-28th. Activity
will be on 80/40/20/15/10 meters before the IOTA Contest. They
will be in the IOTA Contest. Also, look for activity on 6 meters
using a FT-920, 5 element beam at 15 meters.

EU-092. Members of the Grantham ARC are now active as GB0SI from
Tanera Mor, Summer Isles (IOSA SC-10, SCOTIA CN-32) until
June 21st. Activity has been on 14260 kHz over the past
weekend. This group was originally going to activate Treshnish
Islands (EU-108). All QSOs will be confirmed automatically
via the Bureau (your return cards are not required). QSL

EU-162. Operator Serge, RZ3AMW, will be active as RZ3AMW/1 from
Ryashkov Island (RRA RR-02-07, RDA MU-05, WLOTA LH-1803)
between now and July 5th. Activity will be on daily on 40
and 20 meters CW/SSB between 1700-2100z. Other reference
numbers a Kandalakshsky Nature Reverse (RFFA RFF-043),
Murmansk oblast (#143, MU for the Rossija Award).

EU-170. Operators Tibor/HA3HP, Neno/9A5AN and Tom/9A2AA will be active
from Dugi Otok, June 15-25th. Callsigns were not mentioned.
The group may possibly activate other islands in that area.

NA-067. Operators Barry/K4CZ, Keith/W4KAZ and Nathan/N4YDU will be
active as N4A from Core Banks, NC, during the RSGB IOTA
Contest (July 26-27th) as a Multi/Single/Low-Power/Island
DXpedition entry. Activity will be on CW and SSB. QSL via
N4YDU (DIRECT ONLY).

NA-142. Swen, DL3YCF, will be active as W4/DL3YCF from Santa Rosa
Island (USI FL003S, Okaloosa County, Florida), between July
27th and August 6th. Activity will be holiday style. QSL via
his home callsign, direct or by the bureau.

SA-030. Cris, PY7GK, will be active as ZW6GK from Morro de Sao Paulo,
Tinhare Island (DIB #60, for the Brazil Islands Award), July
24-27th. Activity will be mainly CW, with some SSB, on 40/30/20
meters, using only 100 watts and G5RV antenna. QSL direct to
PY7GK.

JT1, MONGOLIA. Members of the Mongolian Amateur Radio Society (MARS)
will activate HQ station JT1KAA and participate in the annual IARU HF
World Championship (July 12-13th). All QSOs will be upload to LoTW. For
direct QSLs (w/SASE): HQ Station Of The Mongolian Amateur Radio Society,
P.O.BOX 830, ULAANBAATAR-24, MONGOLIA.

JT1/JT4, MONGOLIA. A research team (Scott/KC0KHA, Dave, Gabor, and Terry)
is currently in JT-land on a Mongolian Vertebrate Parasite Project (MVPP).
The team has been assigned two club callsigns for two different regions
in Mongolia. While in Ulaanbaatar they will use the callsign JT1N. In the
Gobi region they will use the callsign JT4N. They were recently active as
JT1N from Naran's, JT1BV, QTH and made more than 90 contacts. Watch 20
meters (14190 kHz after 1030z). Next May in the year 2009, they will be
doing field work in and around the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park in
southern Mongolia through August. QSL via KC0KHA. Read about their MVPP

JX, JAN MAYEN (Update). Michael, G7VJR, will be departing for Iceland on
June 24th, where he will be catching a ride on a 60 ft sailing boat with
the adventure company, Eco-Expeditions, to Jan Mayen. He is expected to
be active as JX/G7VJR for approximately 6.5 days between June 25th and
July 6th. He plans to be active as much as possible, especially on CW,
using lightweight antennas and a K2/100 radio. Activity will be on 40-6
meters. Also on the trip will be Wojtek, SQ4MP. Wojtek will sign JX/SQ4MP
and will be active on CW/SSB and a small amount of RTTY. QSL both callsigns
via G7VJR, direct or by the Bureau. It was announced that Chris, GM4FAM,

LIGHTHOUSE ACTIVITY. Greek operators Dimitris/SV4AAQ, Katerina/SV4AFY,
Kostas/SV4FFF, Thanasis/SV4FFK, Kostas/SV4FFL, Panagiotis/SV4JYI and
George/SV4LAX will activate the Trikeri Lighthouse (ARLHS GRE-128) as
SY4LH during the first weekend of July (5th and 6th). Other operators
mentioned but will only participate for one day out of the two planned
days, are John/SV4FFB, George/SV4FFE, John/SV4FFI, Sotiris/SV4JYK,
Nikos/SW4JYL and Dimitris/SW4LAD. This is the first time that this
lighthouse will be activated for radio-amateur purposes. The lighthouse
is situated on Point Kavoulia, about a ten-minute hike from the Geroplina
Settlement of Trikeri, in the Gulf of Pagasetikos. Gridsqua KM19MC.
Activity is expected to be on all bands, 160-2 meters using modes CW,

MD4, ISLE OF MAN (EU-116). Operators David/G3NKC, Peter/G4MJS, Martin/G4XUM
and possibly others will be active as MD4K during the RSGB IOTA Contest
(July 26-27th) as a Multi entry. QSL via G3NKC.

SCANDINAVIAN TOUR. By the time you read this, Keith, G3TTC, has started
his tour to Denmark, Sweden and Norway, which will end on July 14th. He
plans to activate various islands during his tour. However, this is a
holiday style operation, so dates may change by one or two days. His
schedule is as follows:
June 12-13th as OZ/G3TTC/p from Romo [aka Roemoe] (EU-125, DIA NS-001);
was active on 40m on the 12th
June 15-16th as OZ/G3TTC/p from Mors (EU-171, DIA NJ-002)
June 19-20th as SM6/G3TTC/p from Hono (EU-043)

July 6-7th as LA/G3TTC/p from Godoya (EU-056)

SX24, GREECE (Special Event). Look for 20 stations to be active using
the special prefix SX24 to commemorate the birth of "Alexander the Great"
24 centuries ago. Activity will last through June 22nd. Operations are
planned for 160-6 meters using CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK. QSL all callsigns
via SV2GWY. Stations heard on the air have been: SX24ELI, SX24EVR, SX24GRV,
SX24JGX, SX24KLK, SX24KZN, SX24TSL and SX24TSR.

TC0W QRT (Wrap-up Report). Operators Pavel/TA2ZAF (OK1MU), Slavek/OK1TN
and Dan/OK1HRA, who activated the special callsign TC0W from the Turkish
Island of Kefken (AS-159) in the Black Sea, have now gone QRT as of June
11th. The TC0W team made 10,752 QSOs (6009/CW and 4741/SSB) after 82
hours of operating. Complete details with photos, on-line log search,

TM8, FRANCE (Special Event). French radio amateurs of the Ardennes area,
as well as Belgium friends Bruno/ON7ZD, Philippe/ON7PV and possibly
Eric/ON7RN, will activate TM8CEC on Sunday, June 29th. Activity is part
of the "open doors" from the Charlemont Fortress (DFCF 08006) at the
"French Army Training Commandoes in Givet (Ardennes North of France)."
Operations will be on the HF bands, CW, SSB and VHF. QSL via F5JER,

XE1, MEXICO. Members of the radio club "Federacion Mexicana de Radio
Experimentadores" (FMRE) will activate XE1LM during the IARU Contest as
a HQ station giving out the FMRE multiplier on both CW and SSB. Operators
will be XE1YJS, XE1MM and XE1CXC.

ZF, CAYMAN ISLANDS (Update/6m Op). Just a reminder that operators Jim/K4BI
and Mario/K2ZD (with XYLs Meredith/K8BBN and Daphne/N2TIN) are planning
a major 6m DXpedition here this week. Look for them to sign ZF2BI and
ZF2ZD, respectively, between June 20th and July 6th. They will be running
an ACOM amp into a 6M5X. Look for them on 50.105 MHz. Their beacon will
be on 50.095 MHz. Emphasis will again be EU, AF, SA and AS, but will, of
course, work NA. They will have HF capability but don't plan on being there
very much or very often. QSL via their home callsign.

ZS8, MARION ISLANDS. There is still no activity reported. For updates
