This weeks Monday Morning Message from John, KD8MQ, contained the following
list of book recommendations byÂ*Pete, NL7XM. Pete posted the
recommendations to Larry’s List, one per day for 12 days.

Day 1: 200 Meters and DownÂ*(1936), by Clinton B. DeSoto.
Day 2:Â*Riding the Shortwaves: Exploring the Magic of Amateur RadioÂ*by Don
Keith, N4KC.
Day 3:Â*Don C. Wallace, W6AM, Amateur Radio’s PioneerÂ*by Jan Perkins.
Day 4: Â*I Never Shot a Rabbit (1991) by Helen Cloutier Schmock, W8GJX.
Unfortunately, this book seems to be out of print.
Day 5:Â*The World of Ham Radio 1901-1950: A Social HistoryÂ*by Richard A.
Bartlett.
Day 6:Â*Arthur Collins – Radio WizardÂ*(2002) by Ben W. Stearns.
Day 7: 33 Simple Weekend Projects, for the Ham, the Student, and the
Experimenter by Dave Ingram, K4TWJ. K4TWJ was quite a prolificÂ*author of
amateur radio books. He was also a bit of a role model for me, as he
self-published many of his books.
Day 8: The Opus of Amateur Radio Knowledge and Lore (2013)Â*by Eric P.
Nichols, KL7AJ.
Day 9: Hello, Everybody! The Dawn of American RadioÂ*(2008) by Anthony
Rudel. ISBN: 978-0-15-101275-6
Day 10: Empire Of the Air, The Men Who Made RadioÂ*(1991) by Tom Lewis.
Day 11: Hiram Percy Maxim – Father of Amateur RadioÂ*(1970) by Alice Clink
Schumacher.
Day 12:Â*Hello World: A Life In Ham Radio by Danny Gregory. This is the
story of an amateur radio operator—Dannys grandfather—as told by his QSL
cards.

KD8MQs Monday Morning Message is a weekly newsletter primarily for amateurs
in northern Ohio. Larry’s List is a mailing list for hams in the Kansas
City region. Both have subscribers all over the country, though.Â*Check them
out.
