I hurried over to the reviews of the HF2V and AV-640 on the eham site and they made for interesting reading. I think I'll hang on to my hard-earned cash for a couple of weeks. There's a big radio sale then and there are usually a few guys selling antenna gear. All the comments on this thread have been most helpful to me - and I really mean that. There's nothing like getting a little input from those who have actually used a piece of equipment, so thanks to all. Hope to see you on 40m CW.
