First Worry Later" (WFWL).

4Z, ISRAEL. Dov, 4Z4DX, will be active during the CQ WPX CW Contest (May
27-28th) as an All-Band entry. QSL via his information on QRZ.com.

6O, SOMALIA. QSL Manager Dennis, PA7FM, informs OPDX that UN worker
(World Food Program - WFP) Michael, PA5M, is on the road again after his
3Y0X participation and is now in Somalia. Activity will be limited to his
spare time, and he will be operating as 6O0M using wire antennas and a
FT-857 w/100 watts. Most of his activity will be during his local evenings.
He was heard this past weekend on 40/20/17 meters CW. It's not known yet
when he will leave the country, but it looks like he will be in 6O-land
for at least 6 weeks or so (but things may easily change). Send QSLs to
PA7FM, who will also provide online logs and photos when available at:
http://www.pa7fm.nl
Logs will probably be updated daily.

6W & J5, SENEGAL AND GUINEA-BISSAU. Peter, HA3AUI, has announced that
he has prolonged his stay in Africa and will now be active from both
from Senegal (as 6W/HA3AUI) and Guinea-Bissau (as J5UAP) until June 10th.
Look for activity on 20/17/15/12/10 meters, SSB, with some possible PSK
and RTTY. He was heard this past week from J5-land on 20 meters RTTY.
QSL via his home callsign direct only.

8Q, MALDIVES (Correction/Update). Simon, M0BOX, is now active as 8Q7BO
from the Kuredu Island Resort (AS-013 -- not AS-018 as mentioned last
week..), now through April 20th. He was heard on PSK Sunday on 15 meters
around 1023z. Look for activity during his spare time on all bands 40-10
meters, the WARC bands included. Simon will concentrate on the digital
modes, mainly PSK31 plus RTTY and maybe SSTV if requested, and of course
SSB. Further information and updates can be found at:
http://www.btinternet.com/~m0box/

C9, MOZAMBIQUE (Update/Still Looking For Ops!). Frosty, K5LBU/C91CF,
announced that they now have one CW and one SSB operator signed on for
the Dxpedition to Mozambique this June-July. They will be there and on
the air from June 29th to July 13th. He states that they would like to
have at least 2 more operators join them. They plan to be in the IARU
Contest. They will also operate on EME on 6-2m and 70cm and plan to do
PSK and RTTY in their spare time. They hope to have 2 statons set up but
need 2 more CW and one more SSB operator to make it worth their effort
to do both. Check out the Web site to see the location they will be staying
at: http://www.tdxs.net/C9.html
Frosty will be in Visalia for the International DX Convention if you would
like to talk to him. Or you can call him at home at 281-437-1978 after
5 PM DST.

FO, FRENCH POLYNESIA (Also FO/A and FO/M). Yves, F6CTL, will be in French
Polynesia and some of its islands from June 18th to July 18th. He plans

FO: Tahiti (OC-046), Moorea (OC-046), Huahine (OC-067), Fakarava and

His activity will be active on SSB, with some CW, with an IC-706 MK2G,
vertical antenna for 40-10 meters and dipoles.

HA, HUNGARY (Special Activity). Since March 29th (2006), the Hungarian
amateurs can use 50-52 MHz. To celebrate the long-awaited legalization
of that band, the special callsign HA50MHZ will be aired by Chris, HA5X,
through December 31, 2006. Look for this special callsign on CW/SSB and
the digital modes. A short-term award is also in preparation, so work as
many HA/HG stations on 6m as you can. QSLs for HA50MHZ are via HA5X, the
LoTW or eQSL.

HH, HAITI. Operator Glauber, PS7EB, will be active as HH/PS7EB between
May 19th and November 25th. Glauber works for the Brazilian Army and has

followed by his reciprocal callsign: VU4AN/VU3FRK. Other ham callsigns
will be like: VU4AN/K3LP. Frank also menitoned that 30m and 6m operations
have been confirmed too. The permit is given for the hamfest dates

WARD Award 2006 (World Amateur Radio Day 2006 Award). The WARD Award is

on April 18th each year. It is issued by the MK QTC, Polish Radio Amateur's
Journal, with the support of PZK, Polish Amateur Radio Union. The WARD

Amateur Radio: A gateway to information and communication technologies for
today's youth.

YB, INDONESIA (Topband). Halim, YB1A, who usually can be found on 40 meters
after 1200z, is now active on 160 meters sometime between 1100-1300z and
after 2115z. He lives near Jakarta. See a nice picture of him on QRZ.com.

YK, SYRIA. Saad, N5FF, informs OPDX that he has postponed his business
trip to the Jordan (JY) and has decided to proceed with his YK trip earlier
than planned. He will arrive in Damascus on the evening of April 16th,
and should be active again as YK1BA from April 17 through May 5th,
returning home to Texas on May 6th. As usual, the purpose of the trip
is not a DXpedition, so his operating will be sporadic. However, Saad
hopes to be able to operate at least 3-4 hours a day. Saad states, "With
the current band conditions, I don't have a solid plan as to what bands
I will be operating on. However, I will operate on whatever bands (80-10m)
and modes that have the best propagation at the time." He suggests that
the most probable operating times are between 0100-0400z, 1900-2200z
and possibly 1100-1400z. Modes of operations will be on SSB and CW, but
he will do his best to work as much RTTY as possible also. QSL via N5FF.

YO, ROMANIA. Laurent, F4DZG, new French ham, will be active as YO/F4DZG at
Brasov, Romania, May 26th to June 12th. This is a family and tourist visit.
He will operate on SSB on 14120 during his mornings and late afternoons
with a TS-50 and G5RV half-size antenna. He will also be accompanied by
some Romanian operators. When he departs, some material/equipment will
be left at David's, YO6FNF. QSL via F4DZG, by the bureau is OK or direct
via QRZ.com. Laurent will go back to Romania in October, and this time he
will try to help the ham community of Brasov (YO6KXP and YO6KYZ).

YX0, AVES ISLAND (Update). Members of the Association of Radioamateurs of
Venezuela (ARV) and the Grupo DX Caracas (GDXC) will activate Aves Island
(Isla de Aves), on April 19th for two weeks (if everything goes as planned,
no promises here because they depend on the Venezuelan NAVY for transport-
ation and the landing permit). See details in OPDX.753. Jose (Joe), YV5LIX,
announced this past week that he will be the DXpedition's digital modes
coordinator for the YX0A operation. Modes will be RTTY, PSK31 and PSK63.
A special emphasis will be on PSK63 and PSK31 on 30 meters, the proposed
operating frequencies a
Band RTTY PSK

40 none none

10 29580 28071 Listening up
The bands where most of their activity will be on is 80, 30 and 20 meters.
The other bands, 17, 15, 12 and 10 meters are secondary and are subject
to propagation. There are no digital operations planned for 160 and 40
meters. Because they are limited to 14 operators by the NAVY, the DXpedition
team plans to be active on all bands on CW/SSB. Joe, YV5LIX, is basically
the only digital modes operator available and can't be active full-time on
the digital modes, so please be patient during the beginning of the
operation. Joe is reserving a few days at the end of the DXpedition for
the digital modes, so during the first week or so they will be only on
SSB and CW. For more details and updates, visit the YX0A Web page at:
