* PLEASE NOTE: The report "could" contain "Pirate/SLIM" operations or
more likely a "BUSTED CALLSIGN". As always, you never know - "Work
First Worry Later" (WFWL).

4Z0, ISRAEL (Special Event). Look for special event station 4Z0V to be
active until October 9th. Activity is taking place during the Wine Festival
at Rishon Le Zion. Activity over the past week was on 40/30/20/15/12
meters CW/SSB/PSK. QSL via 4Z4KX.

5Z4, KENYA (Interesting Callsign of the Week!). Miki, YT1CS, is currently
active from Nairobi and will bethere until November 18th. His callsign is
5Z4YT1CS (ed. Wow! What a mouthful. Yes, it is true and there is no
"/" [slatch] between the 5Z4 and YT1CS). It was reported that Miki's
activity would only be SSB on 20/15/10 meters. There is a possibility he
may activate some of the IOTA islands there. QSL via YT1CS (direct or
by the bureau).

7W0, ALGERIA. The 7W0AD is now active until October 9th. Activity over
the past weekend was very active on 30m (RTTY) and 17 (SSB/RTTY) with
some 40m (CW). QSL via EA4URE.

CE0Z, JUAN FERNANDEZ ISLAND. Marco, CE6TBN, informs OPDX that there is
now no amateur radio operator on this island. Eliazar, CE0ZIS, has left
the island 4 month ago and is now living near Valparaiso City in CE2-land.
Marco states that he has plans to travel to CE0Z next year, but he is not
sure when yet.

CN, MOROCCO (Update OPDX.678). Last week we mentioned that Jan "Jim",

He was heard this past weekend on 3800, 7046, 14260, 18145, 24945 and

Web site. (ADDED NOTE: Also for all other operations.) For direct QSLs,
please use the QSL info/address on his Web site at:
http://www.pa3gio.nl/FR/

HZ1AB CHANGE. For almost six decades the HZ1AB club station in Saudi
Arabia has been active. Originally known as the United States Military
Training Mission station and more recently known as the Dhahran Amateur
Radio Club, this station is now shut down. According to "The Daily DX"
and the "ARRL Letter", Club Secretary Thomas Carlsson, SM0CXU/AB5CQ,
said this week that new station license requirements in Saudi Arabia
made it necessary to shut down the station, and the callsign has been
reissued to a Saudi national. The QSL Manager Leo Fry, K8PYD, still has
the HZ1AB logs and will handle any past/late QSL requests.
