Dan,
I did it on line (Kinky) and received my paper copy in about a week, and this was by doing a MOD. Chuck KE4ETH "Dan/W4NTI" wrote in message ... "Phil Kane" wrote in message .net... Doing a MOD will screw up the process royally. Have fun..... ggg Geez. Well, I did a MOD on 3 July for an address change. Will report back once results arrive to advise how badly it screwed things up. Well, my license with the new address arrived 10 July, 100% accurate - and I'm on the Left Coast, so they have a very quick turnaround. No problems from doing MOD rather than AU as far as I could see. I'm glad that it worked out. I received the above advice from Darlene Reeder, a good advisor and colleague who was the longtime chief of the personal radio services license processing section at the FCC's Gettysburg facility - now retired - when I had to change the address of three ham licenses (myself and two relatives for whom I handle the paperwork), two ham club stations for which I am the trustee, and a GMRS license. As Darlene said, the AU is far less keystroking than the MOD - less chance for the program to screw something up. Perhaps the computer programming folks got their act together during the ensuing time (don't bet on it). Maybe you were just lucky or skillful. Have fun. -- 73 de K2ASP - Phil Kane From a Clearing in the Silicon Forest Beaverton (Washington County) Oregon I let the ARRL do it for me. They got it changed on the FCC data base but still no hard copy license. Been about a month now. Just how long does it normally take to get the paper ticket? Dan/W4NTI |
