UPS is the nation's fourth largest airline, in terms of number of aircraft. Once everything is flown in and sorted, it goes out of Louisville in an incredible event known as the 'Midnight Flight' or some such thing, wherein in the middle of the night, plane after plane takes off for its destination. It is a sight to behold. You stand there on the tarmac and you watch endless takeoffs that go on for *hours*. Endlessly. In the middle of the night. It is surreal. It is a copy-cat of FedEx who has been doing that from Memphis for several decades. -- 73 de K2ASP - Phil Kane From a Clearing in the Silicon Forest Beaverton (Washington County) Oregon |
