Jack, I really enjoyed reading your writeup and looking at the photos.
You have a wonderful one-of-a-kind transmitter there. It looks great.
Hope to talk to you on the air one day. 73 de Randy, WB5KCM

Really nice, Jack. Did you use the Ranger audio system to
drive the 813s?

Such a project is never really "finished", because there are
always new ideas and parts to be tried out.

Congratulations, its beautiful! Tube transmitters
_should_ have windows. For some pictures of transmitters
with windows see:

Roger. I started a thread earlier on using 813's as triodes and it was
like falling off a log. The modulator consists of a very small chassis
with a fil trans, tube sockets and a meter. This sits next to the mod
iron on a wood deck. I like the idea of the mod iron isolated from ground.

Such a project is never really "finished", because there are
always new ideas and parts to be tried out.

Roger again. I want to eliminate the Ranger for one thing starting with
the audio. I bought a 4W audio pre-amp and when I get tired of playing
with the new rig I want to see if this will drive the 813's. I need
some ideas on interfacing the two... some sort of interstage audio
transformer I suppose.

Then, a simple xtal controlled exciter would be fun.

No end is there?
