With 18 months of idle time, the chances are greater that it has
died from unuse. This advice was given to me from KF6BQF, who has been fixing
electronics for over
30 years.

John, don't believe everything you hear especially from a newbie, today's
electronics have a long shelf life. You can quote me as well, KF6HHS, been
fixing electronics for 50 years.
