hey guys...Yesterday, I was charging my Yaesu VX-5r in the car with a
makeshift charger, and the hot lead that was connected to the center pin on the radio grounded out against the radio's case....and now the radio will power up, but will not charge. My question is: has anybody ever experienced this on this or a similar radio, and have any idea what component in there got toasted? I opened the radio up and saw no visable damage, but the components are barely visable themselves...I read the schematic, but it's more of a block-diagram, and I couldn't get much out of it. I know this was a stupid and careless mistake....but if anybody has any suggestions, they would be appreciated! (or suggestions on how to build a charger for LiOn batteries!)
