In VK, the Holden Commodore is powered by a Buick 3.6 ltr V 6.. the computer
and electrics in 2000 yr on model Holdens will not allow use a 146.800
Repeater out put on the 2mtr section using a 706MK 2G.. amazing, thats how i
ended up with this new G, i installed it in a '94 Commodore same motor
earlier PC and Electrics, works ok, but the Internal HASH noise of the 706
doesn't help the cause , but the GAP HEAT IT spkr does,
Injector Primer Pumps cause some bother also, I run a Hi Sierra S/DRIVER
mounted on the Trailer hitch away from the PC , antenna is grounded at the
base hitch plus to Exhaust pipe and again at the engine end i have bonded
the donk to the chasis , and I take the DC off the starter and run it to to
Netural Links in the boot via 400amp Cable
then each rig (remoted in boot) have their own ferrite DC filters, a lot
more work getting HF mobile in these new rigs

Alan, IC796 must have been a typo, hit the nine key instead of the zero,
I do that sometimes too. Your's is the only one that seems to be working

I take it then the noise blanker is not too good in most of the 706
series.

I wonder how the FT-857 is?

My FT-900 is quite good, but I don't think I can get it in my new
vehicle.

Thanks

Dale,
The noise blanker on my 706IIG works well on the ignition noise from
my Cherokee sport. I run the power lead directly to the battery,
while keeping it as far away as possible from any other wiring.

It will soon be in a Chevy 1500 pickup. I would think it will do
well there too.

I've had one in my truck since 1999 (706, MKII & MKIIG). With what little
ignition noise I have. It's very effective. It does not help with fuel pump
noise. The other gentleman is right about the 756Pro.

Interesting comments on the 706 noise blanker.

I already have a LDG tuner also and that's one of the reasons I would
like to give the 706 a go. Interested in hearing any comment too about
using the 706 and LDG tuner.
